I seek to help my clients recognise the strengths they already have and build back confidence that has all too often been knocked by challenging social experiences.

Advice and training for schools and organisations on how to create compassionate, accepting and empowering workplaces for autistic people.

I take a strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming approach to assessment. This means that I am interested in how you communicate best, and where you struggle, not whether you conform to any preconceived idea of the ‘norm’.

Assessments are carried out in my calm and quiet therapy room in Chipping Norton or in your home, wherever you feel more comfortable. A free-of-charge 30-minute Zoom or telephone call is usually the first step to discuss your needs and the assessment is tailored to you.

Most assessments will include a combination of the following:

  • Formal language assessment
  • Questionnaires and conversations to understand the views of the person being assessed
  • A meeting with parents, partner or family
  • Informal clinical observation
  • Feedback from school
  • Classroom observation

Each assessment will include a full and detailed report complete with advice and recommendations. Reports for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP) including neurodiversity-affirming outcomes and provision can also be provided.

comfortable and safe

We are so grateful to you Sue. You were able to meet our highly anxious daughter and make her feel comfortable and safe in the environment you provided. The assessment that you completed showed that you really understood her and her needs surrounding her autism and speech and language and the barriers that she was facing in everyday life whilst those needs remained unidentified. Thanks to your input she is now getting the support she needs in School. We can’t thank you enough

Parent
professional, and compassionate

We cannot thank Sue enough for supporting our daughter on a 1-1 basis. She has helped our daughter to embrace and accept her diagnosis and discussed ways on how to move forward. We have seen positive changes in our daughter’s mental well-being. She is professional, compassionate, approachable, super friendly and engaging

Positive Feedback

Sue has provided comprehensive assessments and robust reports to a number of our clients for EHCP Needs Assessments and Tribunal Appeals.  Her reports are carefully considered, specific and quantified. Sue takes a person centred and holistic approach to understanding individual strengths and areas of difficulty. Client feedback is very positive, and we continue to confidently recommend Sue where clients are seeking a high-quality assessment of their Child's Speech, Language and Communication profile

Tailored approach

What I really like about Sue's approach is that it is tailored to my daughter. She really took time to get to know her, observing her carefully in the school environment and getting to know us as parents. She is tackling things which are at the heart of my daughter's problems, not just treating the symptoms. She is working in a very professional way with the staff at school, supporting them to better support my child, and acting as a bridge between us, which takes a little bit of the strain off our shoulders. But mostly, I would recommend Sue because on "Sue days" at school, my daughter tends to come home with a smile on her face.
